The underlying cause of facial aging is the loss of collagen. 70% of our skin is composed of collagen. Collagen is a strong, flexible fibrous type of protein that is found throughout our bodies, including our bones, muscles, tendons and in the middle or dermis layer of the skin. Under a microscope, collagen looks like bands of rope bound together or stacked logs. It acts as skin’s support structure or scaffolding that helps maintain skin’s shape and support.

Sculptra Aesthetic is made from Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which helps stimulate your skin’s own natural collagen production. Over time it reinforces skin’s inner structure and increase facial volume that has been lost to aging. Poly L-latic acid (PLLA) is a safe biodegradable substance that has been proven safe and has been used in medical products, including dissolvable sutures, for more than 30 years.

What does Sculptra Treat?

Face: Sculptra is injected into sagging areas of the face. This helps stimulate collagen to naturally address volume loss and to strengthen and tighten the skin. A series of 3 treatments is typically recommended.

Brazilian Butt Lift: Sculptra can be an excellent way to add additional fullness and roundness to a butt that is naturally flat or has begun to droop and sag over time. A personal consultation can address whether or not you are a good candidate for this procedure.

Neck: Sculptra can be injected into the neck to reduce sagging skin, reduce "neck bands" and invigorate and bring life to the overall neck area. Sometimes we only focus on the face but at Pure Med Spa we can address the entire picture!

Elbows & Knees: Sculptra can help with skin that looks thin, wrinkled and crepey by restoring lost volume and plumpness.
